Privacy policy
Last updated 7 November 2026
This policy explains what Birdie collects when you use birdiegolf-jo.com, book or pay with us, message us on WhatsApp or take part in our leagues, why we collect it, and the choices you have.
Who is responsible
Birdie · Golf at the Village is operated by Rowad For The Operation And Rental Of Sporting Facilities LLC, Swefieh Village, 1st floor, Amman, Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan. We are responsible for the personal data described here (the data controller) under Jordan's Personal Data Protection Law No. 24 of 2023. You can reach our data protection officer at team@birdiegolf-jo.com or on WhatsApp +962 7 9044 4479.
What we collect
- Your account: your name, phone number and email, and how you sign in (a code by email or WhatsApp, or Google).
- Bookings: the services, dates and times you book, who you book for, and whether you came.
- Memberships and packages: the plan or package you hold, its balance, its expiry and each use.
- Payments: the amount, the date, the method and the bank's payment reference. Card details are entered on our bank's secure payment page; we never see or store them. For CliQ we receive the mobile number or alias you pay from.
- WhatsApp: the messages and photos you send us, including photos of scorecards.
- Leagues and scores: your scores, the course and day they were played, and the name you play under on the simulators, so we can match you on a scorecard.
- Newsletter: your email address if you join the Birdie Community.
- The website: basic technical logs, the cookies needed to keep you signed in and remember your language, and Google Analytics to count visits.
Why we use it
To take and manage your bookings, memberships, packages and payments; to answer your messages; to run leagues and show league tables; to send booking confirmations, reminders and receipts; to send the newsletter if you joined it; to understand how the website is used so we can improve it; and to meet our legal, tax and accounting duties. We do not sell, rent or trade your data, and we never pass on card details. We don't make automated decisions about you or build a profile of you: an AI service reads a scorecard photo only to read the scores, and staff check every score before it counts.
Leagues and public tables
When staff approve a score, it appears on our public league tables on birdiegolf-jo.com and on screens in the venue, with your first name and the first letter of your last name only, never your phone number or email. If you'd rather not appear, tell us and we'll keep your scores off the public tables.
If you send a scorecard with other players on it, we add their scores only if they are our customers and you choose to add them, and each of them is asked to confirm. Players who aren't customers send their own photo.
Who we share it with
- Flexrz, operated by Power of 28 LLC in Jordan, which runs our website, bookings, payment pages, messages and leagues on our behalf and under our instructions.
- Bank al Etihad and its payment processors, to take card and CliQ payments.
- Meta, to deliver WhatsApp messages.
- Google, for Sign in with Google and Google Analytics.
- The email and hosting providers Flexrz uses to send emails and keep our records.
- The AI services Flexrz uses to read scorecard photos and help answer WhatsApp messages; they process that content only for this.
- Authorities, where Jordanian law requires it.
No one else.
Where it is kept
Our records are kept on the Flexrz platform. Flexrz and the providers listed above store and process data outside Jordan, including in the United States. We use providers that protect data to the standard Jordanian law requires. Where a country isn't recognised as giving that protection, the transfer relies on your consent, which you give when you agree to this policy.
How we protect it
Only the staff who need your data, and Flexrz on our instructions, can see it. Data is encrypted in transit, and card details never reach us. No system online can be guaranteed secure, so if a breach puts your data at risk we tell you within 24 hours of finding it and report it to the Personal Data Protection Unit within 72 hours.
How long we keep it
- Your account, bookings, memberships and scores: while your account is open, then deleted or anonymised within 12 months of it closing.
- Payment records: as long as Jordanian tax and accounting law requires.
- WhatsApp messages: 12 months.
- Newsletter: until you unsubscribe.
Your rights
You can ask to see the personal data we hold about you, to correct or delete it, to restrict or object to a use of it, or to withdraw a consent you gave, subject to records the law requires us to keep. Using these rights costs nothing. Write to team@birdiegolf-jo.com. We confirm your identity before acting and reply within 30 days. You can also complain to the Personal Data Protection Unit at the Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship.
Marketing
We send the newsletter only if you joined it, and every email has an unsubscribe link. Booking confirmations, reminders and receipts are service messages, not marketing.
Children
You must be 18 or over to create an account or pay. Juniors take lessons and play at Birdie: a parent or guardian creates the account, makes the bookings and gives consent for them.
Other websites
Our site links to other services, such as WhatsApp, Instagram, Google Maps and our bank's payment page. Their own privacy policies apply there.
Changes
We may update this policy. Changes take effect when they are posted here, and the date at the top shows the current version. See also our Terms of use and our Payments, cancellations and refunds.
